# How to set up an Instagram comment auto-reply

An auto-reply rule answers new comments on **one Instagram post** for you. Use it for giveaways, launches or "comment PRICE for details" posts. The reply is a **public comment reply** under the person's comment. It is not a direct message.

## Before you start

- **The client's Instagram account is connected.** See [How to connect Instagram](https://kredia.io/help/en/clients-and-connections/connect-instagram).
- **The post is published on Instagram.** Rules can be set on published posts only.
- **Decide the trigger:** reply to every comment, or only to comments that contain a keyword.

## Set up the rule

1. Click **Preview** in the sidebar and pick the client.
2. Stay on the **Instagram** tab and click the published post.
3. Click **Auto Reply** to open the rule.
4. Make sure **Enable auto-reply** is set to **On**.
5. Under **Trigger**, choose **All comments** or **Keyword match**.
6. For **Keyword match**, type the words in **Keywords (comma-separated)**, for example `price, info`.
7. Write the answer in **Reply message**.
8. Click **Save Rule**. The **Auto Reply** heading now shows **Active**.

You can also open the post from the client's profile page; the **Auto Reply** section works the same way there.

To stop the rule, set **Enable auto-reply** to **Off** and save, or click the trash icon to delete it.

## How it behaves

- It answers comments that arrive **after** you save the rule. Older comments are not answered.
- Each comment gets one reply, even if Instagram notifies Kredia twice.
- Keywords match anywhere in the comment, and capital letters don't matter.
- Comments from the client's own account (including Kredia's replies) are ignored, so the rule never answers itself.
- There is one rule per post. Saving again replaces it.

## What can go wrong

- **The rule stopped answering after you reconnected Instagram.** Open the post and click **Save Rule** again after every reconnect.
- **Nothing happens on a Facebook, TikTok or other post.** Auto-reply works on Instagram only.
- **Replies are public.** Everyone can see them, so don't put private details in the reply message.
- **The controls are in English** even when Kredia is set to Hebrew.
